One way to assign a role to a person we’ve already seen — directly within the role itself (as explained in the previous chapter).
The more overview-oriented approach, with a focus on the employee, is the so-called Focus Mode — in this case, the People Focus Mode.
Idea:
We put one person in focus and can then:
see which roles have already been assigned to them, and
easily add new roles or remove existing ones.
Let’s quickly go through the red numbers in the image one by one:
The person in RED is the one currently in focus, set by clicking the 🎯 Focus icon.
In all the white cards in the upper, dark areas of the lists, we now see the roles that are already assigned.
In the lower, lighter sections, we see the unassigned roles in grey (which we can move up simply by clicking “+” or by dragging and dropping).
Up here, you can exit Focus Mode again.
This is your go-to mode for checking what’s assigned to a person and for continuing to fine-tune their profile.
I also always use this mode during 1:1 conversations — and I highly recommend that team leads do the same!
